OLIA VILLA
Olia Villa is situated in Vrachinari, a tranquil area approximately seven kilometers from the town of Lixouri. The villa is surrounded by lush greenery and is adjacent to a picturesque path. This path, only 400 meters long, leads visitors to the well-organized Vrachinari beach and the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea.
Olia Villa will be your home base for numerous outdoor activities and leisure trips around the island, starting from the nearby Gero Gombos Lighthouse to the distant yet magnificent village of Fiscardo.
You will have the chance to indulge in local flavors, taste local wines, and try a variety of traditional products in many places along the way. Moreover, many of the well-known, impressive beaches of the island, such as Xi, Mania, Mega Lakos, and Petani, are within a short driving distance from the villas.
Location: Kounopetra is a small area located a few kilometers southwest of Lixouri. It’s most famous for its geological phenomenon.
The Rock of Kounopetra: The name "Kounopetra" literally means "moving rock." This phenomenon involves a large rock that, before an earthquake in 1953, was observed to move rhythmically in the sea without any apparent cause.
The earthquake stopped this movement, but the rock remains a notable feature.
Beaches: The area around Kounopetra also offers beautiful beaches, such as Vatsa Bay and Vrachinari Beach, known for their serene settings and clear waters.
Accessibility: Both Lixouri and Kounopetra are easily accessible by car or ferry from Argostoli. If you’re staying in Lixouri, Kounopetra is a short drive away.
Best Time to Visit: The best time to visit is during the summer months when the weather is warm and the seas are calm, perfect for beach activities and exploring.
Together, Lixouri and Kounopetra offer a mix of cultural charm, natural beauty, and a touch of mystery, making them worthwhile stops on a trip to Kefalonia.
